(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Crime rates in Indiana stayed essentially flat last year, according to the FBI’s annual report.
The number of violent crimes in Indiana was up 6/10 of a percent, thanks to an increase in assaults.
Murders, rapes and robberies were all down.
But the per capita violent crime rate was down 2/10 of a percent.
Property crimes were down 6%.
The state had 17 fewer murders, with Indianapolis and Gary accounting for just under half the total of 310.
