(MONROVIA, IN) - A grass fire got out of control and destroyed a home near Monrovia late Monday afternoon.
Seven fire departments responded to the fire with at least eight tanker trucks at the rural location where no fire hydrants are available.
The house owned by Waynetta Ramey and her finance was a total loss.
Dry weather was a factor in the fire but the cause remains under investigation.
Morgan County has not yet banned open burning.
