(UNDATED) - A study released Wednesday shows Indiana has experienced 53 food recalls in the last 14 months, due to contamination by salmonella and other bacteria related to food borne illness.
USPIRG, Consumer Federation of America and the Center for Science in the Public Interest claim their report, "Recipe for Disaster," indicates the U.S. Senate has failed to pass needed protections.
Nationally, last month's recall of a half billion eggs was one of more than 85 recalls involving 153 food companies since July 2009.
