(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Natural resources will conduct controlled goose reductions in coming months.
The DNR says large amounts of goose waste at park beaches, picnic areas and bank-fishing locations have raised health concerns, adversely affected visitor enjoyment, increased erosion and resulted in increased operating costs.
The hunts will take place in November, December and January at Potato creek, Quabache, Chain O'Lakes, Whitewater Memorial, Shakamak and Lincoln Parks.
