(FORT WAYNE) - A Fort Wayne museum could be closing. Officials are reportedly considering shutting down the Jack Diehm Museum of Natural History due to poor attendance.
The facility is also in need of more than $100,000 in repairs. That includes an estimated $77,000 for a new roof. A local newspaper reports attendance so far this year has totaled 521, which is up from 473 in 2009.
The director of the nearby Fort Wayne Children's Zoo says the zoo draws more people on a busy weekend than the museum has in the past decade. The museum was founded in 1963.
