(WASHINGTON, IN) - Senator Evan Bayh delivered his farewell speech from the senate floor Wednesday.
Bayh thanked the people of Indiana for the privilege to serve and urged the senate to work together to meet the gathering challenges facing the United States.
Bayh made reference to a late night meeting in October 2008 as financial panic continued to gather force.
He said democrats and republicans came together that night and their actions helped avoid economic catastrophe.
