(UNDATED) - Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is supporting a bill that would change state law to allow the creation of pharmaceutical drop off sites.
The Attorney General's Office has sponsored "Drug Take Back" days with local and federal law enforcement officials allowing residents to safely dispose of expired or unneeded drugs.
Currently law requires a police officer to be present at all disposal locations.
The goal is the change state law to allow pharmacies to collect and destroy drugs dropped off by residents without the presence of law enforcement.
