(MERRILLVILLE, IN) - A newborn baby girl is healthy after being found on a doorstep in Merrillville.
Angela Croarkin stepped outside her home to take a smoke break Friday night when she noticed a cardboard box on her porch.
She told her husband, who is a Merrillville Police Officer, and he opened the box to find the newborn wrapped in a sweater in the single digit temperatures.
The full-term baby girl is doing well at Methodist Hospital's Southlake Campus in Merrillville.
