Banks Warns Customers Of A Rise In 'Account Phishing'

Last updated on Monday, January 10, 2011

(GREENFIELD, IN) - The Greenfield Banking Company is warning customers that somebody’s going phishing for account numbers.

Vice President of Markerting Rene Rupley says even some non-customers have gotten the calls and texts.

They were told that there has been unauthorized activity with their debit card and the card has been canceled.

In order to reactivate it, victims are told they need to text their debit card number or their pin," says Rupley.

The calls, of course, did not come from the banks.
