(UNDATED) - About 5% of Americans suffer from a condition called seasonal affective disorder.
The disorder shows up during the winter months.
Kimble Richardson of the Saint Vincent Stress Center says many of the symptoms are similar to depression.
Richardson says people can buy a special type of lamp to treat the disorder, but they should talk with a treatment provider first.
