(UNDATED) - A legal challenge has been filed to a section of the Interstate 69 extension project.
The challenge, filed by the Hoosier Environmental Council and Citizens for Appropriate Rural Roads, seeks to overturn a permit that was issued by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The groups contend that the permit authorizes the Indiana Department of Transportation to reroute streams and fill in wetlands that would be crossed by the Indianapolis-to-Evansville highway.
