(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - The Indiana house has passed a statewide smoking ban.
The 68-31 vote marks the fifth time the house was approved a ban.
This time, senate leaders have promised for the first time to give it a hearing.
Co-author Representative Eric Turner says he's optimistic the legislature will approve a ban in some form.
He'll urge senators to delete some of the exemptions attached by the house for casinos, bars, smoke shops, veterans' halls and nursing homes.
