(UNDATED) - The state weights and measures department has shut down a number of gas stations throughout the state for having water in their storage tanks.
Program Manager Larry Stump says the problem usually occurs when fill caps don't seal properly allowing water to seep in or a problem with the storage system itself.
Stump says the large amount of rain, snow, and ice this winter has added to the increased number of cases.
Consumers are encouraged to get a receipt for all gas purchases as proof in case of any problems.
