(STATEHOUSE) - The house Democrats’ leader says progress is being made toward a return from Urbana, Illinois, to the Indiana statehouse.
As the standoff enters its fourth week, House Minority Leader Pat Bauer tells reporters "fairly good talks" are taking place between he and House Speaker Brian Bosma.
Bauer says Bosma has agreed to allow bills that died in legislative committees as a result of the impasse to remain off the table for the session.
He thinks the two sides will be able to reach an agreement on the vouchers bill that would cap the amount of taxpayer dollars going toward the program.
Democrats are also attempting to reach an agreement on bills that would impact collective bargaining for labor unions before they return.
