(STATEHOUSE) - After weeks of delays due to the Democrat walkout, the house has finally passed a state budget.
The budget passed by a vote of 60-37.
It will now move on to the senate for further consideration.
The budget, authored by Rep. Jeff Espich, will not have Governor Daniels' 3% cuts to higher education he had suggested.
Governor Daniels also wanted to cut money for optional Medicaid services such as dental care, but the house budget restores that money.
If the budget isn't passed by the senate and the house after negotiating differences between the two versions by April 29th, a special session would be needed to iron things out.
