(UNDATED) - The annual rankings of the healthiest counties in indiana have been released.
The 10 healthiest counties listed are Hamilton, Dubois, Boone, Lagrange, Hendricks, Warrick, Dekalb, Wells, Whitley and Marshall Counties.
The 10 counties with the poorest health are Jay, Lake, Jennings, Martin, Sullivan, Fayette, Switzerland, Pike, Starke, and Scott counties. State Health Commissioner Gregory Larkin says all counties should adopts a system-wide approach to address specific health outcomes and health factors in their communities.
He credits the InShape Indiana Program and Indiana Healthy Weight Initiative for doing just that.
The rankings were determined by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
This is the second year the rankings have been released.
