(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The Tippecanoe County Health Department says the meningitis death of a Purdue University student poses no immediate threat to the community.
A department official confirms that a male student died last week of non-infectious meningitis.
He's the third student to come down with the ailment in the past three years.
Purdue Women's Basketball Player Drey Mingo was diagnosed last November and another student was hospitalized with bacterial meningitis in September 2009.
