(VINCENNES, IN) - A Knox County jury is holding Good Samaritan Hospital accountable for a not recognizing a patient as a “high fall risk” patient.
The jury ruled in favor of the estate of Lois Small.
Her estate argued that hospital officials should have used video cameras or a bed alarm to monitor the woman closely.
Small became confused and left her bed one night in April 2005 then fell and broke her hip.
She later passed away from health conditions unrelated to her fall.
