(LOGANSPORT, IN) - A town hall meeting was held in Logansport this week to inform the community of the issues with gang activity in the city.
Detective 1st Sergeant Brad Smith with the Logansport Police Department says part of the meeting was meant to educate the community on some of the myths and facts of gang activity.
Smith says the meeting was a success with over 220 members of the community arriving to learn about what to look for in terms of gang activity.
He says the people were taught about different gang colors and gang taggings and what to do if they see something suspicious.
The Logansport Police Department formed a gang suppression unit five years ago to help combat gang activity in the city.
