(UNDATED) - Governor Daniels has ruled out a run for president.
But a top adviser isn't ruling out a run for Vice President.
In a conference call with state and national reporters, State Republican Chairman Eric Holcomb declined the opportunity to slam the door on Daniels as someone's running mate, instead dismissing it as hypothetical.
Holcomb says it wasn't the chattering over Mitch and Cheri Daniels' divorce and remarriage in the 1990s that prompted a family veto of a presidential bid so much as the recognition that winning the White House would change the whole family's life forever, even after he left office.
Holcomb acknowledges that's true to a great extent of the Vice-Presidency too, but he says he won't be the one to take the possibility off the table.
