(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - President Obama visits Indianapolis’ Allison Transmission plant today, four weeks later than planned.
The President had scheduled a visit to Allison in April, four days after the official announcement he'll run for a second term.
He canceled that trip to deal with down-to-the-wire budget negotiations in Washington.
Then as now, he's highlighting Allison's work with hybrid engines.
It's the second time this year the administration has used Indiana as the stage to showcase its backing of efforts to reduce oil dependence.
In February, Vice President Biden visited the Ener1 Advanced-Battery Plant in Greenfield.
