(ELKHART, IN) - The recreational vehicle industry is slowly recovering from the economic downturn.
That's according to Great Lakes RV Center owner Rob Reid in Elkhart, Indiana. Reid says business is much better than 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Reid says the RV Industry has been around for 50 years and has survived high interest rates of the 1970s and oil embargoes of the 1980s.
Last year, Reid says his business went from red to black.
By some standards, Elkhart has become the unofficial capital of the RV Industry.
60% of all RVs nationwide are built in Elkhart.
While acknowledging there are fewer dealers, Reid says there are more buyers. Reid has been in the RV business for 10 years.
