(ANDERSON, IN) - The city of Anderson declared a public health emergency in light of the extreme heat indices plaguing the Midwest.
Anderson joined a list of cities providing 'Cooling Centers' for residents to seek shelter from the heat.
Citizens in the crime watch network are also being encouraged to check on elderly and disabled neighbors.
