(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Indiana Congressman Mike Pence says he will vote in favor of the “Boehner Plan” to end the debt ceiling crisis.
The proposal goes to the house floor for a debate this afternoon with a vote expected to come in the early evening.
Pence says he is voting for the bill because the leadership has agreed to bring two balanced budget amendments to the floor for a vote Friday.
Pence says he would not vote for an increase in the debt ceiling without a concentrated effort to present a balanced budget amendment to the senate and the states.
The house leadership plans to bring two amendments to the floor for debate and a vote.
One is considered a more Republican plan while the other received bi-partisan support 15 years ago.
Pence says a balanced budget amendment shows the American people that congress is doing everything that it can to change they way the people's money is spent.
