(UNDATED) - Indiana Congressman Todd Rokita is speaking out about the debt ceiling crisis in the country.
Rokita says he wants a balanced budget amendment in the debt ceiling plan.
Rokita says a balanced budget amendment is important because it forces the country to not spend more than it takes in.
That, he says, will lead to a cap on the nation's debt which can then be paid off.
Rokita adds that these deals need to be policy-driven but if politics force the president to continue to face the issue, then it's worth it.
