(UNDATED) - Farmers markets are popping up all over Indiana.
The Department of Agriculture doesn't have figures for this year yet but show that the year before the number of farmers markets doubled.
Stevie Stoesz is the Manager of the City Market in downtown Indianapolis.
She says she has definitely noticed an increase in farmers market customers which she credits in part to people wanting to help their community by buying local.
You may also notice farmers markets have gone high-tech; the newer generation of farmers is very savvy about using social media and accepting credit cards.
