(UNDATED) - Indiana has sued a California “foreclosure consultant.”
Companies which say they'll broker a deal to get your home out of foreclosure aren't necessarily breaking the law.
But the state-run Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network does the same work for no charge.
What is illegal, thanks to a law passed this year, is for those companies to collect fees up front without posting a $25,000 bond with the state.
Premier Legal Advocates didn't.
The state wants refunds for seven customers, plus fines.
