(INDIANAPOLIS) - The 2012 Indiana State Fair will be the year of the dairy cow.
The announcement was made at the fairgrounds on the final day of the 2011 State Fair.
The American Dairy Association's Jenny Purcell says the cows will be featured prominently throughout the fair. She says Indiana has 169,000 dairy cows that produce 13.4 billion pounds of milk.
Indiana produces about $450 million dollars a year. The 2012 Indiana State Fair runs Aug. 3 - 19.
