(INDIANAPOLIS) - The 9/11 memorial in Downtown Indianapolis is on pace to be completed on time but funding is still being sought.
City-County Councilor Jeff Cardwell, a volunteer with Project 9/11, says people have been very generous with donations to the project but more donations are still needed. He says the project is going to cost about $350,000 dollars to build the memorial in Downtown Indianapolis.
To date, about $260,000 dollars has been raised. Cardwell says donations have increased dramatically after the beams from the World Trade Center arrived in Indianapolis
He says construction of the memorial is going well and they are planning to install the beams around the first of September with the dedication ceremony on September 11th.
