(KOKOMO) - Some laid-off teachers in Kokomo will be getting their jobs back.
The board had laid off 28 teachers in May. Superintendent Jeff Hauswald blamed the layoffs on a loss of 3-million in state funding due to changes in the state funding formula.
School officials say additional resignations and higher-than-anticipated enrollment are allowing the teachers to be hired back.
Thursday is the first day for students in Kokomo.
