(SOUTHPORT) - Parents of students at Southport Middle School were alerted Wednesday of an attempted abduction outside the Southport 6th Grade Academy.
Principal Brian Knight sent a voice message alert, telling parents of the situation.
A white man in a red car reportedly approached a girl from Southport 6th Grade Academy as she waited for her ride.
The student was standing outside the doors of the academy and was not harmed during the incident. Knight says she went back inside the school and told officials, who then called police.
