(UNDATED) - Indiana Congressman Andre Carson (D) is responding to the criticism he’s received over controversial comments made at a congressional black caucus event in Miami recently.
Carson says he didn't mean to hurt anyone or any group. Carson added that his concerns weren't about the tea party as a whole. He says he questioned the idea of taking America "back to the good old days because those days weren't good for everyone" and he just wants to see everyone work together to better the country.
Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain, speaking at an event in Georgia, called Carson's remarks "counterproductive."
