(ELKHART) - The city of Elkhart has reached an agreement with federal officials to make over $166 million in sewer system improvements.
The U.S. attorney and the Environmental Protection Agency cited the city for violating the Clean Water Act.
The improvements will reduce overflows from the combined sewer system into the St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers, and Christiana Creek.
