(UNDATED) - The number of people seeking compensation from the state for the State Fair stage collapse now stands at 14.
Families of four of the seven people killed in the collapse before the fair's Sugarland concert have filed claims with the state. So have eight people who say they were injured, one who claims emotional distress, and one whose claim is unclear.
State law limits the total amount that can be paid to five-million dollars.
Attorney General Greg Zoeller has indicated the state will pay the full amount, and has enlisted Kenneth Feinberg, who oversaw the 9/11 settlement fund, to help determine who's entitled to how much.
