(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gleaners Food Bank unveiled its new “farmer’s market on wheels” today.
The truck is a state-of-the-art mobile pantry that can haul up to 10,000 pounds of food or 7,500 meals to feed the hungry. It can also carry fresh fruits, vegetables and other perishables.
Gleaners says the travels 25 times a month and serves 21 counties across central and southeastern Indiana.
The truck comes courtesy of Kraft Foods and Kroger.
Gleaners rolled out the new vehicle at New Beginnings Church. It's part of Kraft Foods and Feeding America's national program that's also rolling out trucks in cities including San Diego, Salt Lake City and Spokane, Washington.
