(INDIANAPOLIS) - Lady Victory will stay put for at least another day.
Brigadier General J. Stewart Goodwin, the man overseeing the complicated re-installation of the 38-foot sculpture, says winds above 10 miles-per-hour Thursday are making the process much too risky.
Crews will meet again Friday to gauge whether it is safe to hoist Lady Victory to the top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
It's been 118 years since Lady Victory was at street level. She was taken down for maintenance after years of weather and water damaged her.
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is part of the Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic District.
