(LAUREL) - The shooting of five people in Franklin County is now officially being called a murder investigation.
The results of the five autopsies were released Tuesday night. 50-year-old Roy Napier, 47-year-old Angela Napier, 18-year-old Jacob Napier and 23-year-old Melissa Napier all suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
43-year-old Henry Smith suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and possible blunt force trauma to the head.
State police Sgt. Jerry Goodin says they do not believe the person or persons responsible for the shootings, was among the dead. Sgt. Goodin says the results are just preliminary and official causes of death could take up to six weeks to be determined.
