(INDIANAPOLIS) - As promised, Marion County prosecutors have filed rape and confinement charges against an Indianapolis man already charged with stabbing a woman and leaving her in a burning home.
Vincent Smith is accused of abducting a woman from her apartment parking lot as she was about to leave for the airport for a family trip. Police say he drove her to a wooded area and sexually assaulted her, after trying and failing to get money using her ATM card.
Investigators say he released the woman at the airport -- and asked if he could call her sometime. He was arrested about six hours later.
Combined with the other charges against him, smith could face up to 236 years in prison.
