(ELKHART) - A Goshen woman has been sentenced to five years in prison in relation to the death of her daughter.
22-year-old Mande Turner-Berger initially told police her one-year-old daughter Mariah Gibson died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, but later revealed the girl fell from the car they were in.
The Elkhart Truth reports Turner-Berger initially received a nearly 22 year term, but time was shaved off through a plea deal. She will also serve ten years on probation.
