(UNDATED) - A typhoon taking aim at Japan canceled Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman’s flight.
According to the Associated Press the typhoon should hit land Wednesday.
Skillman's goal is aimed at luring more jobs and business deals between the Hoosier state and Japan.
Skillman was set to fly from Indianapolis at 12:45 today, with her team of state, local and business leaders and land in Tokyo Wednesday. The group also planned to visit Ohta City, Nagoya and Tochigi Prefecture, Indiana's sister state.
Representatives from the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Duke Energy and regional economic development groups were part of the delegation, which is now seeking a new flight to Japan, according to Skillman's office.
Not among that delegation was Jim Plump of Jackson County Industrial Development Corp., who actually returned to the Hoosier state from Japan on Tuesday.
Seymour Mayor Craig Luedeman said Plump was in Japan working on at least two projects.
One project was speaking with Aisin officials on behalf of the city about gaining additional road right of way at Aisin USA Plant 1 to better accommodate the widening of Killion Avenue and Hartsell Drive, or County Road 990 East, at the Eastside Industrial Park.
