SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - St. Joseph County Democratic Chairman Butch Morgan has resigned following a newspaper investigation that found forged signatures on petitions for the state’s 2008 primary ballot.
Morgan says he has done nothing wrong, but doesn't want to be a distraction. Earlier this month, the South Bend Tribune reported it found pages from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton petitions with apparently fake names and signatures.
