(INDIANAPOLIS) - Authorities say DNA tests have positively identified a body found in an Indianapolis creek as 20-year-old Shaneice Nicholson, of Indianapolis.
The cause and manner of her death have not yet been determined.
Detectives believe Nicholson disappeared on the weekend of June 25 and was last seen walking through an apartment complex near a fast-food restaurant where she worked. Her badly decomposed body was found July 3 in Fall Creek.
The discovery drew attention because it occurred in the midst of an expansive search for 20-year-old IU student Lauren Spierer, who disappeared June 3 after a night out with friends in Bloomington.
