Hank Williams Jr's New Controversy Song Is A Hit

Last updated on Thursday, October 13, 2011

(CNN) - Hank Williams Jr.’s new song inspired by his recent controversy with Monday Night Football and ESPN, called “Keep the Change,” is a hit.

The free song has gotten 150,000 downloads in 24 hours.

He released it after ESPN dropped his long-running musical introduction to Monday Night Football after Williams made controversial comments about President Barack Obama on the FOX News show, FOX and Friends.

Williams initially apologized for his comments on the program, although he has been unapologetic in recent interviews.

According to ESPN, they and Williams "decided to part ways." But the country music singer is adamant about his exit, saying he quit.
