(WEST LAFAYETTE)(AP) - Purdue University has placed its associate dean of students on paid leave after West Lafayette police arrested him on suspicion of shoplifting.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Purdue University has placed its associate dean of students on paid leave after West Lafayette police arrested him on suspicion of shoplifting.
50-year-old Pablo Malavenda was arrested on Sunday and released after posting bond. The theft occurred Saturday at a Wal-Mart store. Purdue spokeswoman Jeanne Norberg says the university learned of the arrest Monday.
As associate dean, Malavenda oversees about 700 student organizations, independent housing units, fraternities, sororities and other programs. He has been with the university since 1998.
