(UNDATED)(AP) - Regions Financial Corp. says it is joining other banks in eliminating its monthly fee for using debit cards.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based regional bank says it will refund fees already charged to its customers. Its $4-per-month fee kicked in at the beginning of October.
John Owen, head of consumer services for the bank, says the move is being made in response to customer feedback.
On Monday, Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks made a similar announcement.
They followed larger banks like Chase and Wells Fargo, which nixed their debit card fees on Friday.
