Cleston Leach, 23, of Columbus, faces a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, a Class B felony, said Lt. Joe Richardson, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department.
The injured man, Justin R. Huff, 20, of Columbus, was in stable condition Saturday night at Columbus Regional Health, said his father, Curtis Huff.
Curtis Huff said his son, who was having difficulty breathing early Saturday, suffered damage to his diaphragm and successfully underwent surgery Saturday night to correct the problem.
