(KENTUCKY) - FAA officials say green laser lights were shined at two UPS Airbus A300 aircrafts at 12:35 Wednesday morning.
Kentucky State Police officials say the aircrafts were reported to be west of the Taylorsville Lake area in Spencer County when the green lights were shined at them.
FAA officials say both planes were 5 miles southeast of the airport when the incident happened. Troopers were sent to the area to investigate, but did not find whoever was responsible for the green lasers.
From Jan. 1 to Oct. 28, 20 laser events have been reported in the Louisville area and 2867 have been reported nationwide. nationwide.
The FAA will pursue $11,000 civil penalties against persons who shine lasers into aircraft.
