(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Legislature is planning to take a break in the days before February’s Super Bowl in Indianapolis, while employees will be expected to be on the job at the state government center just blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Legislature will be about a month into its 2012 session by the time of the Feb. 5 Super Bowl.
Senate President Pro Tem David Long says legislators will meet at the Statehouse on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then not meet on Thursday and Friday before the game.
Long says some out-of-town lawmakers are losing their rooms at hotels or long-term residences beginning that Wednesday afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Mitch Daniels says the schedule for state workers isn't being changed that week.
