(INDIANAPOLIS) (WISH) - A Hoosier marine is missing, and now his mother is pleading for the public’s help to find him.
20-year-old Eric Kirby's mother, Nora Willman, said she last spoke with her son Oct. 25 on facebook. That's the last day he was seen, on the grounds of North Carolina's Camp Lejeune. She is desperately trying to solve the mystery. Willman says her son would not take off because he has a 3-year-old daughter.
Kirby lives in Terre Haute and is a 2010 graduate of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
According to Camp Lejeune's public affairs office, Kirby's status has been listed as an unauthorized absence. Willman said she's getting mixed messages about where he was before he disappeared.
"I received information that he went to work that day and he got off, went to his apartment and came back to the base to visit a girl," she said.
What has Willman particularly worried is that her son hasn't answered his cell phone since the last day he was seen.
Kirby is 5' 8" tall, about 125 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes. He drives a 2005 Ford Explorer with a North Carolina plate.
If you have information about Kirby, contact the police department in Jacksonville North Carolina, where Camp Lejuene is located, at 910-455-4000.
