(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man died after striking the back of a semi trailer that was completing a turn off of U.S. 50.
Daryl Alexander, 51, who was alone in a 2008 Hyundai, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 2100 block, Seymour police Patrolman John Watson said.
Police did not know why the accident happened.
Semi driver Joseph Mawdesley, 56, of Holland, Mich., was driving west at 9:51 a.m. on U.S. 50, also called Tipton Street, when he slowed down to turn left into the Wal-Mart Distribution Center parking lot, Watson said.
The driver crossed the eastbound lanes and was three quarters out of the road and into the lot when Alexander, who was eastbound, struck the semi's back.
